Upadacitinib after pigment-cell transplant for vitiligo

Description:
Jilin University plans to enroll about 60 participants. Upadacitinib is an oral JAK inhibitor that reduces inflammatory immune signaling. Researchers hope it will slow melanocyte destruction and improve repigmentation, alone or after cell transplantation. Upadacitinib is sold as Rinvoq and is approved for atopic dermatitis and several other inflammatory conditions; vitiligo would be a new use. Possible effects include infections, acne, nausea, and headache; serious risks can include blood clots and major cardiovascular events. People ages 18 to 60 may qualify. The study is recruiting at one listed site in China.
