Paid on-camera opportunity: adults 25+ with non-segmental vitiligo

A New York-based casting team, GENUINE (The Real People Company), is looking for adults (25+) living with non-segmental vitiligo for a paid, filmed project.

This isn’t a scripted “before and after” situation. They want real people having a real conversation about what vitiligo is actually like. That can include your personal journey, treatments you’ve tried (or skipped), how you research options, and what changed after diagnosis.

Compensation and timing

Details shared by the casting team:

  • Filming fee: $500 for the day of production
  • Usage bonus: $4,000 if you’re featured in the final asset (motion + stills)
  • Timing: filming is planned for mid-April

How to participate

If you’re comfortable sharing your story on camera, fill out the casting team’s online questionnaire as soon as possible:

A quick “know your rights” checklist

Before you sign anything or get in front of a camera, make sure you understand what you’re agreeing to. Here are smart questions to ask:

  • How long is the usage? (2 years, 5 years, or “in perpetuity”)
  • Where will it run? (social only, TV, web ads, internal training, etc.)
  • Is there exclusivity? (could it block you from working with other brands later)
  • Do you get any review/approval of the final edit? (often the answer is “no,” but ask anyway)
  • If you’re not in NYC, are travel and lodging covered?

VRF note: We’re sharing this as a paid opportunity our community may want to consider. As always: read the terms, ask direct questions, and only participate if you feel fully comfortable with the scope and usage.
